At Lafayette Federal, we are committed to supporting those who serve our communities, especially in the face of hardship. The COVID-19 pandemic has placed an incredible amount of stress on all, including our local business owners and frontline responders working tirelessly day-in and day-out as the backbone of our country’s pandemic response.

To give back to those who give everything for us, we established our Fuel the Frontline COVID-19 community initiative.

The goal of our initiative was twofold – to support our local businesses and to provide comforting meals to our frontline heroes. Through our Fuel the Frontline initiative, we purchased meals from our Select Employer Groups (SEGs) and business owners in the restaurant industry, providing them with a much-needed income stream via weekly food delivery orders. In collaboration with these local business, our teams delivered the hearty meals to local first responders, including medical providers, police, and emergency departments.

Our Fuel the Frontline meal deliveries occurred twice per week, running April 28, 2020 through August 20, 2020. Through our initiative, we purchased nearly $21,000 worth of meals from our SEG and business partners, and delivered over 1,750 meals to those on the frontlines of the pandemic.
