Charles Stewart III

My Lafayette story started in 1994 when I first joined. I did not know what a credit union was about, but my company offered it as a benefit for my direct deposit paycheck. This allowed me to get my money a few days early. Over the years I have had mortgages, car loans, and been able to volunteer to improve the credit union. I have always been very happy with the customer service, even when I was across the country with no access to a branch.
With over 20 years of experience in real estate finance, I have a deep understanding of the market and can help you navigate the complexities of securing a mortgage. I was born and raised in Hampton, Virginia, where I developed a passion for sports, particularly football and baseball. After high school, I enlisted in the United States Marine Corps and became a Hydraulic Pneumatic & Electronic Technician, working on jet aircraft and helicopters. During my time in the Marine Corps, I played football and even played on the All Marine Football Travel Team.
After completing my six-year tour in the Marine Corps, I attended N.N. Shipbuilding Apprentice School and became a licensed commercial, industrial, and residential electrician. In 1990, I formed a promotion, marketing, and advertising company, which coordinated and promoted concerts, artists, and premier events nationwide. Then, in 1995, I enrolled in Alpha College of Real Estate and became a licensed realtor.
In 2005, I started financing and investing in real estate ventures. I then decided to make real estate finance my profession. I am a former producing Branch Manager and current licensed Senior Mortgage Banker & Loan Officer. I have previously worked at Union Bank, J.P. Morgan Chase Bank, and now, I am proud to be a part of the Lafayette Federal Credit Union team.
