Hispanic Heritage Month is celebrated from September 15th to October 15th, and honors the culture and achievements of our nation's Hispanic community.
September 15th marks the independence day of Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua, while Mexico celebrates their independence day on September 16th, Chile on September 18th, and Belize on September 21st. Following are a few Hispanic Heritage Month events in the DC area:
Festival Fiesta DC - Join Lafayette Federal at Festival Fiesta DC 2018! We'll be in attendance on Sunday, September 30th from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., and will be located at the corner of Constitution Avenue and 7th street. Learn more.

Smithsonian Events - Throughout Hispanic Heritage Month, the Smithsonian Institution will be hosting a variety of fun, family-focused events. Events include Cooking Up History: "Exploring Mexican Regional Cooking” on September 15th at the American History Museum, and the Dia de los Muertos Family Day on October 27th, located at the American Art Museum.
