Kensington 8K Run

We are proud to sponsor the Kensington 8K Race—a beloved fall tradition now in its 32nd year, taking place this year on Saturday, September 20, 2025. This fun and fast event draws runners, families, and neighbors through historic Old Town Kensington, scenic Rock Creek Park, and past iconic landmarks like Warner Mansion, Antique Row, and the Noyes Library. A true community celebration, the race supports eight local schools—including Kensington Parkwood Elementary, Walter Johnson High School, and others—having raised over $350,000 in net proceeds since 2009.

Lafayette Federal will be on-site throughout the event to connect with participants, fellow sponsors, and our community supporters. Visit our post-race festival table in Reinhardt Park—adjacent to the turn-around of the 8K—and pick up exclusive LFCU goodies, chat with our friendly team, and celebrate community spirit together.
