Electronic loan payments, including those from an outside account, may be made using Online Banking. Please see our Frequently Asked Questions below.

Using our Loan Payment Portal, you can make your Lafayette Federal loan and mortgage payments securely online 24/7 from any bank account. You will need your Lafayette Federal loan or mortgage account number (printed on your statement), and the routing and account number from the external bank account you will use to make your payment.

Loan Payment Portal Discontinuation Effective December 31, 2022

In our ongoing effort to provide service excellence, we are continuously evaluating our systems and seeking ways to make improvements. After realizing the shortcomings of our Payment Portal, we will be discontinuing the service as of December 31, 2022. After this date, electronic payments to your Lafayette Federal loans must be made within Online Banking.

When will our Loan Payment Portal be discontinued?

The Payment Portal will be discontinued as of December 31, 2022.


Why are you discontinuing the Payment Portal?

The Payment Portal was initially set up as our old online banking platform could not process payments from external accounts. With the rollout of our new online banking platform, members can now make payments within Online Banking from external accounts at other financial institutions.


How can I make my loan payments after the Payment Portal is discontinued?

How long does it take to link my external account for loan payments within Online Banking?

It will take approximately three business days to link and verify your external account prior to making loan payments from that account. Watch our setting up external transfers video guideOpens in New Window.


How do I enroll in Online Banking?

Members can enroll in Online BankingOpens in New Window using their account number, social security number, and date of birth. Watch our Online Banking enrollment video guideOpens in New Window.


Where can I find my account number?

Members may find their account number on their initial loan funding and account opening documents, or their monthly account statements. If you still cannot locate your account number, you may contact our Member Service Department at 301-929-7990 or memberservice@lfcu.org.


If my payments are currently set up as recurring in the Payment Portal, what should I do? Will I need to set up automatic loan payments again in Online Banking?

If your payment are currently set up as recurring, you will need to stop those payments and reestablish recurring payments in Online Banking. Watch our making loan payments video guideOpens in New Window for steps on how to set up recurring payments.


Will this change impact my Premier Pay/Simple Pay consumer loan rate discount?

You will continue to receive your Premier Pay/Simple Pay consumer loan rate discount by reestablishing recurring payments within Online Banking.


What happens if I don’t take any action?

If no action is taken, your loan payments will stop processing January 1, 2023.
