Lafayette Federal Credit Union Announces Grand Opening of Greenbelt Branch

Greenbelt, MD – Lafayette Federal Credit Union, a trusted financial institution operating in the DMV region since 1935, is excited to announce the grand opening of its new branch located at 7357 Greenbelt Road, Greenbelt, MD 20770.

After officially opening its doors early this month, the new financial services center is set to host a grand opening celebration on July 10, 2024. Festivities will take place between 11:30 a.m. and 2:00 p.m., beginning with a ribbon-cutting ceremony (featuring speakers from Lafayette Federal and the Greenbelt community) followed by a complimentary lunch beginning at noon, and includes free giveaways, drawings, and exclusive offers.

The Greenbelt branch is intended to serve the diverse population of the area, and seeks to become an engaged, active presence in the local community. In addition to providing a wide range of traditional and innovative personal financial services, Lafayette Federal offers financial literacy workshops and counseling, commercial banking services, and robust online and mobile banking platforms.

Additionally, Lafayette Federal seeks to facilitate homeownership for Greenbelt’s younger demographic and families, fostering long-term financial stability and growth for its members. Christopher Dobbins, Lafayette Federal’s Vice President of Branch Operations said, “Lafayette Federal Credit Union can significantly enhance the financial well-being of the Greenbelt community by providing tailored support and counseling for first-time homebuyers, helping more residents achieve homeownership.”

Lafayette Federal Credit Union’s mission of “serving, supporting and empowering” its members, alongside its vision, “Your credit union for life,” resonates in every decision made by the institution. Choosing to open a branch in Greenbelt embodies this goal, as the new branch is specifically designed to support the needs of the community.

Lafayette Federal Credit Union was recently named one of USA Today’s 2024 “Best Places to Work” and has received numerous accolades and awards over the years, including Newsweek’s Best Banks (2022-2023), S&P Global Market Intelligence Report (2012-2022), and Washington Business Journal’s Fastest Growing Companies (ranked 8th, 2022).
