In times of need, we are committed to supporting you. This includes providing assistance during financial hardships caused by economic challenges and natural disasters.

We understand the stress and financial strain that loss of income, illness and severe weather can impose on you and your loved ones. Therefore, we stand ready to offer our help should you be affected.

Assistance Options

If you are currently facing financial hardship, you may apply for an extension on your consumer loan payments, including:

  • Auto Loans
  • Boat Loans
  • Credit Card
  • Personal Loans

You may also apply for a modified payment schedule on your mortgage loans, including:

  • First Mortgages
  • Home Equity Loans
  • Home Equity Lines of Credit

Submitting Your Application

To get help with your loan payments, submit the appropriate PDF loan extension application. A separate application is required for each loan. To ensure you have submitted a complete application, please make sure you complete the appropriate application in full and include the appropriate income documentation. Each loan needs a separate application and must be signed in order to be considered complete.

***IMPORTANT***
These applications include digital signature fields. You must download the forms to your computer or device before completing and saving. Digital signature fields will not work in a web browser. Download Acrobat Reader to complete, sign, and save PDF forms.

For auto, boat, credit card, and personal loans, download our Consumer Loan Payment Extension Application.

For mortgage and home equity products, download our Mortgage Assistance Application.

Required Documents
Included in each application is a list of required income documents that must be submitted alongside your application:

    • Borrower’s Required Income Documents
    • Co-borrower’s Required Income Documents (if applicable)

Please submit your completed application, together with the required documentation, to Lafayette Federal via mail: 2701 Tower Oaks Blvd, Rockville, MD 20852, fax: 240-747-2494, or online: Lafayette-AssetRecovery@lfcu.org. We will contact you within five business days to acknowledge receipt and let you know if you need to send additional information or documents. We will use the information you provided to help us identify the assistance you may be eligible to receive.
